Living in the ghetto has its ups and downs. the downside is that most of the ground sucks to skate on. the upside is that there are super crusty cutty ass spots that no one would touch with a ten foot pole. wait, is that a good thing?
there is a lot of abandoned property, and the neighborhood i live in, east Garfield park resembles kind of a run down urban decayed area like detroit or something. something post- apocalyptic.
There is this school nearby the conservatory that is abandonded, but the pavement is actually pretty decent. lots of junkies hang out there and leave it looking like skid row. i think i am going to turn it into a DIY spot because someone else has already started doing that.
to my surprise, someone rub-bricked this WHOLE curb from the sewer grate ALL the way to the hydrant, past that yellow thing. i was like "what!" someone who skates lives in this neighborhood and is crafting spots. I want to find out who it is. I have an idea but i am not sure.
They also rub bricked and clear coated this parking block, which i kind of raised on one side and am going to concrete a little transition to slappy up onto it soon. I bent that pole to make a flatbar but unfortunately, its only for looks, that thing will bend is break the second you put weight on it.
Heres the thing thats actually sick. i found all the ingredients laying around to set up a legit kicker ramp to this handrail. there are clips to be got on this thing. once by back is healed, im about to send. I gotta make sure to bring a broom though, there are tons of glass shards and heroin needles all over the ground. its hectic in that respect but there are not dangerous junkies roaming around too much, at least at this time.
