Kind regards to everyone!
How are you doing this morning? ☕
As for me, I’m about to start five intense weeks of work… yep, that time of the year. The one where time seems to speed up and the days turn into a nonstop sprint from morning to evening, right before the company’s annual shutdown. Let’s just say it feels a bit like the Olympics… except there’s no medal waiting at the end 😄
The rest of the year, I usually work alone, nice and steady, with my own rhythm and organization. But right now, like every year, I’m thrown back into team mode… and let’s be honest: it’s a whole experience. Between people running around in every direction, others stressing out to finish everything on time, and the constant “emergency mode” atmosphere, it sometimes feels like a reality TV show set on a worksite.
So, like every year, I stay calm and tell them:
“Take a breath. If everything isn’t finished, it’s not the end of the world.”
Because at some point, when we’re constantly understaffed, we have to be realistic: it’s not on us to carry everything forever. Hiring, training, organizing… those are things too. And strangely enough, when someone is missing, you notice it immediately — funny how that works.
I have one simple rule: I refuse to burn myself out for a job that won’t give anything back. Making yourself sick for a boss who, let’s be honest, won’t lose sleep over you… no thanks. None of us is irreplaceable, and once you’re worn out, you’re quickly replaced. That’s the harsh truth, might as well face it (with a coffee to help it go down ☕).
I really wish more people understood that we’re all, in the end, just a piece in a big machine. And my goal is simple: to reach retirement in good shape, not completely broken, wondering why I spent my whole life working non-stop without enjoying it.
My philosophy is clear:
👉 I trade my lifetime for a salary.
👉 I’m not the only one looking for a job — an employer is also looking for someone.
👉 And if I’m “selling” my time, it’s on my terms. Period.
Anyway, good luck to everyone going through the same thing… and may the force (and coffee) be with you 💪😄
And what about you—what’s your work philosophy? I’m curious. Are you the type to put in extra hours, or do you stick strictly to what you’re paid for?
Personally, I deliver work that matches my salary—no more, no less. I work to earn my free time.
I wish you all a good day, dear readers—and even those who didn’t read 😄
Sorry for the little rant, but this busy team-work period really gets on my nerves. Anyway, it’s only five weeks a year… thankfully!
We’ll see by tonight—I’ll be able to say: one day down, and one day closer to vacation 😄
Good day all , good work , good vacation, good other lol .
