This is a real issue in my church as well and I think many churches. It also stretches past just the study groups - it’s also getting people to participate and serve in church.
We love to “play church” but fail to remember we ARE the church!
Also I heard something in a podcast once that really convicted me. Pick any passion you have outside of your faith - it could be music, baseball, cars, etc. How much knowledge do we have on those topics? I can remember lyrics from 40 years ago. But can’t take the time to study Gods Word and remember it.
Where you spend your time is where your heart is….
If you are part of a church, show up and be the church. Serve, participate, invite friends and be in Gods word together!
The Bible is so much more than reading - it’s part of learning who God is and discovering His character. It’s amazing.
