One of the hardest situations a person faces in life is when they have to talk about themselves because in our busy everyday lives, we do not get to catch a breath to stop and think about our own selves. Today, I am attempting to write about myself and I guess this might very much be the first time in my 18 years of living that I spent so much thought into who I am and truly wondering about myself.
My family:
I was born on 13th of June 2006 into a family of 7, my birth parents, 1 older and 3 younger siblings but I was adopted at the age of one and a half years old by my aunt (the sister of my father) as she could not have children of her own. Now, my family consists of only me and my adoptive parents, I found out about the adoption a few years ago and pretty much did not have much of a reaction to it. I believe everything happens for some kind of betterment and anyway, I cannot change the past now. Someone once asked me, “what if you had the ability or opportunity to change the past or this certain decision taken by your birth parents?” and I asked myself “Would I stop my mother from giving her newly born daughter to her sister-in-law??” I used to ponder over this question a lot and I came to a conclusion that “No. I would not stop or change anything even if I could”. This is how I found out that I never had a problem with the adoption as someone else in my place or a similar situation might want to change a decision like this if they could. I strongly believe Allah has planned my life like this and I am no one to question it.
Education:
I live in a small area located in Punjab, Pakistan which has a quite high literacy rate. I am currently studying in first year of intermediate in computer science and my final examinations are due in about less than two months but honestly I do not understand how all this time flew by so fast. When I used to be younger I used to say how old the students studying in 10th are and I did not know how and when I would choose my career but now, here I am, studying in first year of higher secondary school. It feels like yesterday that I applied for admission in this college and now we are already looking for universities and choosing our career paths and planning our college farewell even before our first year exams.
Friendships:
This year, I found the best classmates of my life, people who made every hardship feel easy and who turn everything into jokes and the air echoes with the melodious sounds of our combined laughter, but sadly the time we were supposed to spend together was very little. I used to be that one person who is so popular that everyone knew, my friend circle used to be very big but since I had a few harsh experiences with friendships in that time, I refined my friend circle a lot and a person who used to be surrounded by people now only has a few by her side. Time sure does change fast! I realized each one of them taught me important lessons and made me who I am today, a lot wiser and mature. Again I suppress the thoughts that cross my mind that make me regret the decisions I took in life but then again, if I never experienced hardships then how would I get to this level today and how would I know how to value happiness and easy times.
Love Life:
In this struggle of finding true bonds, I found one of the most precious people in the world. My fiancé! Some might say that it is a young age to fall in love and commit to it but I prayed a lot for this and I have a certain belief that this is Allah’s will.
Talents and hobbies:
I consider myself very bad at artistic and creative things but I think I just don’t try hard enough for it and I am not consistent. Anyway, I am really good at makeup and my eyeliner is always perfect according to many people. I also really like getting dressed up and I love having beautiful henna applied to my hands. I enjoy capturing pictures of nature and I love exploring it more as travelling is my biggest passion. I read a lot. I have read so many novels in my life that it is pretty much impossible to count them now. My room is flooded with books everywhere. My favorite book is pride and prejudice by Jane Austen and my favorite book series is the twisted series by Ana Huang. I also watch movies, series and dramas in my free time. My favorite drama is a Chinese one called “Falling into your smile”. I can also cook really well. My specialty is biryani which is a very famous Pakistani/Indian dish. I am a speaker and a debater since I joined kindergarten and I have participated in many speech & creative writing competitions and by the grace of Allah I always won all of them. I pick up languages very quickly and it makes it easier for me to learn new languages rapidly. I am quite fluent in English even when it is not my native language. I also love reading and writing poetry in Urdu language. I learnt Korean when I was younger but did not continue it so I forgot most of it and I want to try to know more about Turkish, Arabic and Persian as these languages build up my interest.
Personality traits:
I have always been an extrovert and quite a confident person in most of the situations but sometimes my anxiety takes over me. Some may remember me as a rude or egoistic person but my behavior with someone depends on how well they treated me. It is a very famous saying that states that no matter how nice you may be you will always be a villain is someone else’s story. It just depends on the perspective and circumstances.
MY ONBOARD:
Hadia Noor invited me. She is my senior in college and a very kind person and she joined hive and she really liked the features and other hivers which also made me interested to start my Hive Journey.
