Good day everyone,
Today started early on a rainy monday, but I woke up and started my day positive. First was my daily routine of making coffee, nice fresh healthy breakfast, taking hot and cold shower and listening daily crypto news, before I get ready and go to work.
This morning started differently as a friend needed help, when one of his tires got flat after a minor incident by damaging a wheel right before parking the car.

I first went to unpack my new car jack that arrived last week and loaded it in my car.
( I was using cheapest one I could get for over 4 years, when it decided to die on me while changing wheels on a brand new company car - luckly my boss was behind me to help out and no demage was done )
After it was ready I went to a parking lot where friends car was parked, checked the size, model and ordered a new one. Came back after work because I was missing a tool to get plastic caps off bolts in the morning. :)
Later in the day it stopped raining, even had a bit of sun shining, positivity all around me and a very good day after all. Helping a friend just added the fun in it.
How to change a flat tire :
- open the boot and check if you got a spare wheel
- remove plastic caps on lugnuts & check if you got a safety lugnut on each wheel (not all cars have this)
- get vehicle to flat surface (if possible)
- make sure parking brake is engaged
- add a rock or something under 2 wheels (to be extra safe)
- set the car jack to a lift point (there is an indicator where to jack)
- raise it half way - woble it a bit to test it's stability
- untighten the bolts a little bit
- lift it enough to remove the damaged wheel
- remove the bolts
- mount the spare wheel back
- insert all bolts back in (by hand)
- tighten all bolts (using a tool)
- slowly lower the car jack
- check the tightness of bolts again
- ... don't forget your damaged wheel, car jack and other tools to give back in the car :)
That's how you are ready to drive slowly (up to 50 km/h) to the nearest mechanic that can change a tire. In my case I had to order a specific one and will be ready to be mounted in a day or two, because everyone is mounting winter tires right now.
When you get to the mechanic, he will know wha to do and you will have no worries, just make sure he uses a moment key where you know with what force the lugnuts are tightened. (normaly 130-140Nm)
Decided to share it because I've done plenty of times, changing my own tires in the middle of parking lot since I got driving licence. I love working on cars and I figured it's a good experience to share it with you as we do drive many miles/kilometers all year around and it's always better to be prepared than getting an unexpected problem, not knowing how to help yourself in the middle of nowhere.
And the money saved instead of calling a mobile service, you can add in your crypto wallet to buy more Hive. :)
I hope you also had a great start of fresh week, knowlage is power, I'm honored to join this awesome community! I'm a car enthusiast ever since I was a little boy, got even more in love with cars when I spent way too much time playing Need for speed, watching movies like Fast and furious & got addicted when my dad and brother got me to watch a rally in real life.
How do you maintain your car?
