So I'm sure everyone is is familiar with the game of Monopoly

So I won't go into detail of what the game is

But today I found out that rules have been changes through the ages and people don't even know this

I'm going to go through these rules one by one and explain what they actually should be

Free Parking Slot

The rule that everyone plays and I have no idea where this came from, is that any money taken from cards on the table are put in the centre of the board and anyone who lands on free parking now collects all the money.

The Actual rule for free parking, is simply. Nothing, the free parking slot is literally just there for a breather from the game.

The Next rule that is misplayed is

You have to wait a full round before you can start buying property, this is not in the rule book, you are actually allowed to buy property from the get go.

This one is massive to me and I wish I knew this last time I played

If someone lands on a property and they don't want to buy it Every single player is allowed to bid for the property even the person who landed on it in the first place.

Here is exert from the rules

Whenever you land on an unowned property you may buy that property from the Bank at its printed price. You receive the Title Deed card showing ownership; place it face up in front of you. If you do not wish to buy the property, the Banker sells it at auction to the highest bidder. The buyer pays the Bank the amount of the bid in cash and receives the Title Deed card for that property. Any player, including the one who declined the option to buy it at the printed price, may bid. Bidding may start at any price.

How about, when you land on the start you collect $400 Dollars instead of 200? That's got to be a rule

Actually no, that's also made up. Nowhere does it state this, you are actually just ment to collect the usual $200.

So to my knowledge when you got sent to jail you could not do anything but roll a double to get out of jail or have a get out of jail card stored.

This is all wrong, This is from the rule books

Even though you are in Jail, you may buy and sell property, buy and sell houses and hotels and collect rents.

You are still able to bid on property and collect money. So if you are rich enough in the game, being sent to Jail could be beneficial to you as you have no possibility of landing on bad spots and just rake in the money
