Blurry sky—I pray/tonight holds this stink

sweat—eat/the feet of water.

Your wash begins as a sea/sweeps across

perches of stars.

I hold my feet on/the high & my arms rise,

then/a path meanders—/a priest mirrors me, his side

wounded with ancient symbols/of

hope—totems arc/above my head; trees tall, small/

tracks, smeared mud.

View this/as darkness shrouds fear.

Machined/ from your silhouette,

wounded/dawn's chambers—bodies/broken,

more unfurling out/of my

mouth, the glade/fades off.

Gleam the space, surprised/roguish

watch—the fire I find/in the shrine, in

the/grove, sun flaring in flat discs,/

& from my mouth, eyes./

Old spittles, smoke of prayer/rises rimmed

white in my mouth.

Heat/heavy, penitents/line my arms like a

summer/dressed in needle marks/& I, naked

body, I/can almost hear what the

drugs/induced into view—/mud smeared

tracks, visions eating/the swaying seafoam,/

priest chewing visions.

The induced/ priest is the sea.

I sway.

The/drug can almost mark/a naked body

dressed in/needles—penitents/autumn,

waiting in white lines.

My mouth is white, rimmed with old/

prayers—smoke spittle.

My eyes are the mouth, from the/grove, flat

discs in the/flare of the sun in the shrine.

I find surprise's fire.

I watch/slow space—mouth unfurls—/fade

off in the glade as dawn—/silhouettes

broken/bodies clambering out

of/shrouds—darkness as tall as trees.

My head above the/totems of hope, hangs

arches/ in ancient mirrors.

In the meandering, priest/raises my

arms & my feet.

I hold fireflies perched/like stars across the

sweep of/rivers & wash the/glittering white

from their feet/& eat from the water hold.
