Ukraine War 2018 - Ukrainian Army Artillery Howitzer Hit By Counter Artillery Fire As Response To Alleged Ceasefire Violation [NSFW]

Recently surfaced video shows Ukrainian military 2S1 Gvozdika 122-mm Self-Propelled Howitzer being hit by pro-russian seperatist counter artillery fire after a alleged* Ukrainian army cease fire violation in the area of Donetsk.

*The term alleged is used due to the uncertainty of the acutal time the video was taken and the fact that due to the nature of the footage the video most likely was originally released by Pro-Russian Seperatists what would mean that there had to be at least some major ground loss for other Ukrainian army elements in the area to Seperatist forces as a result of more direct fighting in order to obtain the footage after the incident.

Self-Propelled Howitzers generally do not operate alone and merely take a more rear mounted supportive role in combat.

For example the 2S1 has a effective range of about 15-22 kilometers depending on the type of ammunition so it is very unlikely that a single howitzer as seen in the video would operate near enough to Seperatist forces so that they could obtain the footage all during the current kind of trench warfare stalemate that has established itself between the two conflicting parties during the Minsk Agreement.

Exactly that stalemate would make it very hard even for small groups of concealed operating Seperatist forward observers to slip through Ukrainian lines to pick up the footage without major backing or mock maneuver from a larger Seperatist support elements. All that for one video seems kind of too costly.
