The Netherlands. I moved from the busiest area to the most quiet area. I probably live in one of the least densly populated areas, for dutch people it's considered "the middle of nowhere".
Yet out of the 200 people here, 2 keep a little vegetable garden sprayed with nasties and three keep a couple chickens. These folks are not passionate about what they are doing, this is about as good as it gets.

It's not all bad or anything. We live in a raw dairy heaven! I love all dairy products so I'm good. Bee keeping is gaining popularity because we face problems with pollination (cause of all the spraying..). Still not from the homsteading perspective but it's a start. The term "food forest" has finally reached our shores so maybe there is hope for the future. But honestly: we are still a long way off.
