The Ocean

There is an ocean inside,
A cool, blue, vast expanse
Teeming life
and cool rich depths...
They wash with
Cleansing baths
In colors rendered
By the lips and hands of God.

There is an ocean inside,
These ebbs and flows driven
By the sequel tides...
The tides carry treasures
Starfish and pearls...
Iridescent dream speak.
Her beauty wrapped in folds of silent reverie
And the ocean sings in conch shells cupping every ear.

There's an ocean inside,
Where sunlight licks waves
In a million little ways.
So broad, so wide the expanse
Reaching, reaching
Beyond to fogotten ships
Resting on the ocean floor
Host to myriad dwellers
A safe and constant lair.

There is an ocean inside,
The ocean meets the shore,
She touches land with tentative hands and brings me to her door.
