Hello my Steemit friends! I wanted to stop by to provide an update. Many of you know me by my poetry on Steemit. If you're not familiar with my poetry, here's a recently example: The Touch
These past few days have been challenging. My friends in the Minnow Support Project (PALS) on the Discord chat know that I write the majority of my posts using my MotoX Pure Edition phone. I currently do not have a working desktop or laptop, although I do possess both, each of them have issues preventing me from using them. The desktop is very old, it may be salvageable, and I am also looking into this option.
Two days ago I was alarmed to discover that I'm no longer able to upload photos using my phone. The only thing that I can deduce is that there has been a software update taking up more space on the phone's already limited memory. I have spent hours deleting and cleaning my phone to the best of my ability. I have an SD card on the phone with an abundance of space, but apparently it doesn't allow me to move my apps on to the card and still retain functionality of those apps. Nonetheless, I have moved what I can, completely clearing the album by uploading the photos to the cloud and deleted more apps than I wanted to for the sole purpose of being able to continue creating posts with graphics.
I've studied numerous documents on how to create a direct link from places like Pixabay, and Postimage, but they do not allow a direct link, so I am still without graphics. This post is being written on my Asus Android tablet. My hope is that I will be able to move photos through email to my tablet.
When I booted up the tablet, it was littered with applications that my grandchildren have downloaded through the years. The tablet was extremely slow and is approximately 4 years old, I am fortunate to have won a sizable gift card from my place of employment during that time. I used part of that gift card from Amazon to purchase this tablet for a nominal fee of $150.
My biggest concern was being able to move my Steemit account onto the tablet, and I'm happy to say that I was successful.**
If it becomes necessary for me to reformat my phone, or completely replace it, at least I still have access to my Steemit account. I'm far from a technical genius, but I've managed through many years to hold my own when it comes to my basic electronics.
