Hallelujah, we made it to Friday! I was blessed to have Monday and Tuesday off for the July 4th weekend. I enjoyed four days off work!
During the time off, Saturday or Sunday, I began receiving text messages and phone calls from my work's alert system. Work's IT unit forced a system update through to our laptops and desktops that caused an issue that would prevent users to log on to their work computers. This problem was companywide.
A flurry of text messages began to fly back and forth on this group text originated by our supervisor. She requested that we attempt to log in to our laptops and check to see if our computers were impacted. When I got home, I logged in, and my system experienced the black screen issue in question.
I reported the problem and I was advised that a new PC would be mailed to me since I don't live within 50 miles of Pittsburgh. There are 46 people in our combined unit. I'm not sure how many agents report to my supervisor, but the text went on and on. All of this occurred during my four-day weekend.
Wednesday I drove to the Erie office to get my laptop worked on. This was made an available option on Monday. The fix was fast and I was upstairs and working in less than an hour, sitting at my old workstation and catching up with the one representative who returned to the office to work full-time in July of last year The rest of the phone representatives, including myself, chose to remain working remotely. It is, hands down, the most economical choice for me living forty-five minutes from the office. I saw several coworkers who I haven't seen in almost three years while working Wednesday and that was very nice.
I drove to Taco Bell for lunch and was surprised how much more the meal costs now. That's another reason to work from home.
Yesterday I woke up with a headache and severe nausea. I called off work and stayed in bed all day. Each time I tried to get out of bed, I lost more of the contents of my stomach. I'm glad that the nausea passed by today . I still am not feeling 100%, but I was able to work. I grabbed a quick nap during my forty-five-minute lunch. It helped a little, but the day dragged on.
Jeff's daughter-in-law posted on Facebook today that she was sick with (what she assumed) was food poisoning and that she and her son (Jeff's grandson) had been sick. I had wondered about food poisoning, too. Jeff ruled it out . A common factor was we all attended Jeff's daughter's Fourth of July picnic. Jeff's daughter complained of a headache the morning of the fourth and vomiting all morning. I concluded that what I had yesterday, most likely, wasn't a migraine after all because I never throw up with migraine. I just experience nausea and can't eat until it passes. I'll never know what afflicted me for sure, but I'm glad it is gone.
I'm relieved it's Friday. I did the dishes that were left in the sink after work and I helped with dinner. We had tacos for dinner. I love taco nights!
We are relaxing while watching X-Files on the Freevee app on Roku. It's been a challenging day for me and my husband. I hope that this weekend is less stressful.
It has been a long short week and I'm glad to bring closure. How was your week?
