Where we live gets very cold at night during winter and we find that we bring our doonas and other thick blankets out to the living room for us to use while lounging about or when we watch tv. It makes the place look like a mess! We aren鈥檛 fans of having the heater on as it dries out our skin easily so we don鈥檛 usually have it on.
I鈥檝e just mentioned this problem really lightly to my friend and she recommended that we buy oodies. Oodies? What鈥檚 that? Well it turns out that it鈥檚 like a wearable blanket that鈥檚 super warm. I hopped on the website and found that there were many different and cute patterns and at the same time they happened to be doing a sale. They were selling a set of 2 for almost the price of 1 and on top of that, I found a discount code which made it even cheaper. It wasn鈥檛 exactly cheap to begin with but if these were warm and does the job then why not? I gave it a go.
I placed a pre-order sometime at the end of June and the oodies finally arrived at the end of July. The moment it arrived, we didn鈥檛 hesitate to wait and opened it right away.
Coming in a reusable bag, I felt it was perfect for when you need to pack it away for next winter. This will make storage so much easier.
Soft. Warm. Cuddly. Absolutely correct! At first touch I felt how thick it was and how warm it is too! This is perfect for us to wear while working from home. It gets cold when you鈥檙e sitting at your desk without much movement.
It is long enough to cover our thighs and nearly hitting my knees when standing. When sitting, I definitely don鈥檛 need a blanket to cover my legs as it鈥檚 definitely warm enough. I usually wear 3-4 layers to feel somewhat warm at home but with the oodie I end up wearing just a long sleeve shirt plus the oodie and same goes for my hubby. It鈥檚 also got a big pocket in the front if you wish to keep your hands warm or carry things like tissue or phone or what you fancy in there.
We chose the panda pattern as it was hubby鈥檚 choice. I would鈥檝e probably chosen a unicorn or avocado pattern if I didn鈥檛 want something to be all matchy matchy with him haha some may say it looks ridiculous and ugly but we think warmth and comfort is most important. Plus you鈥檙e only wearing it at home.
With all the discounts on, I think we ended up paying $99 AUD for 2 of these and it was free shipping. We think it鈥檚 definitely worth the money and we should have discovered it earlier. Our living room looks a lot neater now without the piles of blankets.
From the Oodie鈥檚 social media pictures, kids are also wearing these to stay warm so I guess it鈥檚 one size fit all and for all ages. Length varies depending on your height.
We recommend this if you have problems keeping warm like us and don鈥檛 fancy using the heater.. or if you don鈥檛 have a heater. Or you can have the heater on and also wear this for extra warmth especially those who live in countries that get really really really cold! Actually, I recommend this also if you don鈥檛 mind the price and if you do get a good deal out of it.
