It鈥檚 been about two and a half weeks since we welcomed our fur baby, Taro 馃惗, to his forever home. This week Taro turns 11 weeks old!
Life with Taro has been filled with lots of joy and laughter as he is quite a silly little puppy. Since we had him, he鈥檚 grown a bit and put on a little bit of weight. We鈥檝e spoilt him a bit recently buying him toys, clothes and feeding him his favourite snacks. He is still being toilet trained (has to be on going), he responds to his name and we have taught him some basic commands.
As mentioned, we spoilt him with many toys recently. At first, we bought a few of his toys from the pet store which we felt was a bit expensive for each one. They ranged from $20-$40 AUD. We visited Bunnings which is one of the biggest household/hardware store in Australia. We were looking at solutions to block the side gates at our house as the gap below the door was a bit wide and we were worried that Taro may crawl under and run out in the streets whilst unsupervised in the backyard. We then noticed a section at Bunnings that sells pet accessories and found toys for less than $7! They even sold collars and leads for $10 or less where in pet stores they鈥檙e over $20 each.
Above are a mix of toys from both pet store and Bunnings. The Bunnings toys are good quality like the ones from the pet store. If you鈥檙e in Australia and looking for pet toys and accessories that won鈥檛 put a hole in your pockets, we would recommend Bunnings.
Apart from toys, we also bought some accessories like jackets as winter is coming, bandanas and also a new collar which actually fits his tiny neck. The collar I bought from Bunnings is a size small but still too big for him. I bought the bandanas and the collar from Etsy which is handmade by the sellers. I purchased from Australian sellers as I wanted to support these small businesses in Australia during these tough times. They鈥檙e not expensive, also really nice and good quality! They ship internationally too so support small businesses if you can 鈽猴笍
He鈥檚 super cute in all his outfits that it melts our hearts. My other half didn鈥檛 plan on giving Taro as much attention as he does now 馃槣. We can鈥檛 wait for Taro to get his 2nd vaccination so that we can take him to the park or go for walks around the block. For now, the backyard and inside the house is the only place he is free to run around. Until then, we will keep you posted on life with Taro :)
