The start of the day was frustrating because after I chose the carrier and payed for it, I went home to set it up, only to find it had missing parts. So I had to go back to the store and was given a refund only to have to get another carrier. Well this time around I was not going to pick another with missing parts so I checked each one I picked up before I chose.

We got back to the house and I did a little cleaning and preparing while my son put it together. After I finished I checked on him to see how he was doing and found he was almost done. Once he finished I grabbed a clean towel and put it in the bottom. The next thing in were the kittens followed by Kitty.

The ride to the vet was not enjoyed much by kitty but once we arrived she calmed down a bit. She would get agitated from time to time from all the other animals but she eventually settled back down.

Once we were called back there was a bit more of a wait for the vet. I had to relieve myself and by the time I got back the doctor had taken the baby into the procedure room. I walked in to talk to him and he explained what he was doing. He told me while showing me what was going on. The vet said it was just the toe and the top layer if skin that was dead and that the kitten would not lose it's foot after all.

I went back to Kitty and the other four kittens to wait for the return of the kitten being taken care of. While I waited my son told me the vet had checked the genders and said... are you ready for it?

We have four boys and a girl.

Once the vet brought the (boy) kitten back in he asked me to hold the baby so he could get a towel to cover the metal table. Once the vet came back with the towel he explained what needed to be done. I am to change the bandage once a day, rinsing the foot and letting it air for about an hour. He told me both the boy and his sister would need oral drops as well. As for kitty bleeding around the death of Six it is apparently normal for mother cats to bleed for a while after birth.

So all in all everything turned out better then I expected. The vet said he wanted me to bring the kittens back in seven days for a check up.

Before I forget to answer the question posed to me on an earlier post, I do not have central AC or carpeted floors so both Kitty and River have opted to sleep on the floor with the babies.
