The difference between confidence and courage should be easy. But many get it confused. Do you really know the difference?
Confidence is generally described as a state of being certain either that a hypothesis or prediction is correct or that a chosen course of action is the best or most effective. Confidence is built by building your skill set. If you have done it before, then you are capable of doing it again. Confidence is done with the absence of fear. One believes in himself because he holds the skill set. Best said, knowing what you are capable of. Example Michael Phelps can go into the ocean and swim to the deep of the ocean and back. Why? Because he has done it before, over and over again. He has built that skill set. Therefore with confidence he can do this.
Courage is the ability and willingness to confront fear, pain, danger, uncertainty or intimidation. Courage is doing something without the skill set. You may be afraid but you will go ahead and do it anyway. You believe in yourself, but this is something that you really haven't done before. You're trying something for the first time. Doing something that you are afraid of. Example, by far I am not a great swimmer. But if I swam deep into the ocean and back like Michael Phelps, that would take courage. Why? I never done that before. I admitted I am not a great swimmer. And I would be afraid. But by me doing it, it's showing courage.
As you can see, a major difference between confidence and courage. But it's definitely easy to get them confused. Do you understand the difference now?
