The Copper coast is a coastline that stretches from Tramore Beach to Dungarvan in the south east of the island in County Waterford.
It is called the copper coast due to its extensive copper mining in the 19th century.
In 2004, it was named a UNESCO global geopark.
460 million years old, the rocks which provide the physical foundation of the natural landscapes are composed of volcanoes, oceans, deserts & ice sheets.
