This is an original poem written over vacation at the lake. Me and the owl and the night.

Rehabilitation Station

The lake rattled the edge to remind me she’s still there.

The critters cheer to declare they’re here and they fill the air

Soft, silhouettes of fragmented light

House on the hill, the dock on the right

Alone with only the shimmering rays and dancing waves

Prancing feet and crickets sounding romancing treats

This moment is relaxing to me.

The night removes the distractions, glimmering refractions

Contemplating responsibilities is like multiplying fractions

Focusing on the sound of the owl seems much wiser to me

Who-Whhwoowhoo

Nature’s attitude is gaining traction with her eyes on me

I’m falling back in love, reconnected

Energized, inspired inside, soul inspected, fear deflected

Mother your beauty’s perfected pristine, highly respected.

Who-Whhwoowhoo Who-Whhwoowhoo

Questions sounding from the wildlife hounding

Hooting hollering, the audience is surrounding

Rehabilitations taking place with the wind in my face

The breeze brought me to my knees like a King to replace

I haven’t the fear to care if the world knows I need to escape

The owl doesn’t question now that we’ve spoken, free to erase.

Who-Whhwoowhoo

I really appreciate you reading my poem.
