Jack Weatherford in his book "The History of Money" (1997) said that the first discovery of money in the country of Lidya in ancient Greece was about 1000 years before Christ. While Donald B Calne in his book "Rationality and Human Behavior" (1999) the origins of money already existed 6000 years ago.

 But according to Donald, the oldest real currency was found in Turkey around 2,700 years ago. The difference of opinion is actually not surprising, considering the definition of money itself is only a medium of exchange.

We know, Ancient Greek society 6000 years ago had exchanged goods in markets with objects. The Aztecs, for example, cocoa beans in the chocolate fruit as a medium of exchange. With that seed, people can buy fruits and vegetables, clothes, agricultural tools, and even buy gold, silver jewelry and so on. It's actually rather difficult to say what money is.

 Because, if an object and a payment device are named the same it could be called money. Small objects such as beads and seashells if used as a medium of exchange can also be called money. But apparently, we all agree that real money is usually called coins and paper. The first time coins were discovered at the end of the third millennium BC in Mesopotamia.

The shape is like a tablet made of clay and then shaped as a coin, inscribed with nail letters. Then a few tens of years later the Mesopotamian currency changed using silver coins. Through the winding historical phase of thousands of years, money changed in another form. After there were silver, bronze, gold coins, copper was born in paper money, of course classic paper.

 First appeared in China. The inventor of Ts'ai Lun who lived in an ancient country around the second century AD. Lun is said to have made the first paper from the bark of the mulberry tree which leaves as a caterpillar feed for the Chinese silk industry. Another history says, long before Lun Mesopotamia had also made banknotes. But repeatedly failed because the raw material used was not as strong as the material used by Lun.
