Meaning of Real Meditation
Why do we have to meditate? To calm our minds, so that we can receive teachings from Heaven, from the Kingdom of God, or from a higher world. We always pray and ask, "Give me wisdom, give me that," but when God wants to speak, He never has a chance because we are busy at all times. We speak, we beg, but we don't listen. Do you understand? So meditation is the time to listen. Just like when you ask me, you have to be calm and quiet for a moment, and I just have the chance to say what I want to tell, or what you want to know. So meditation is like that. Sit quietly and receive a message. Otherwise, God wants to tell you about millions of things but you don't have time to hear that. You are too busy talking, praying, singing, worshiping, and counting beads. It's okay to do this. I don't mean that it's not good. This is very good, but we also have to be calm for a while, so God has a chance to communicate.
Peace is with us for a long time. It's just that when we are too busy looking outside, we may forget the true peace within us, and we face a little inconvenience and difficulty in life. If we can find time to sit still, or just calm down, then we can find it in ourselves, we will rediscover this peace and happiness. This is the real meaning of meditation. We don't have to really sit in the corner of our quiet house. We can sit anywhere, or stand at the bus station, or on the bus when going to work, or sit where we work, and in silence look for our true Soul who is always there. Because we are not body or mind. We are not what we do, or what we learn, and we should not be brainwashed to believe that we are what we are today. This is difficult to explain. Only myself who understands this clearly, and many of our practitioner students also understand.
We must truly realize that 'me,' or 'Mrs. Smith' or whatever name we give, is not our true self. We don't exist. We do not think that we are a person who has a lot of knowledge, or someone who has anger when faced with frustration or life problems, or someone who has a lot of love, or someone who is satisfied with success, and so on, this is not the real 'us'. Before birth we don't have all of the school's knowledge, or the wisdom of books, for example, and we don't have the quality of anger like that, we don't have a loving attitude, or feelings that like fun and reject unpleasant events, and so on. So that is all the habits and knowledge that we collect when we are raised.
Everyone already knows how to meditate, but they meditate on the wrong things. Some people meditate on beautiful girls, some on money, some on business. Every time you pay your full attention to one point and whole heart, then that is your meditation. Now, I only pay attention to the Power within, to love, to love, to the quality of God's Grace, and that is my meditation. To do it right, we just have to sit in a quiet corner and be ourselves; that's the process of meditation. But it is not by sitting quietly in an angle that makes someone get something. You must have contact with that inner Strength first and meditate using that inner Strength. This is what is called Self Awakening. We must awaken the Self within us and let Him meditate, not our human brain or our human understanding. If not, you will sit down and think about a thousand things and will not be able to overcome your passions. But when you are awakened, the Self that is inside, the power of God that is inside will control everything. You only know true meditation after you are awakened by transmission by the True Teacher. Otherwise, it's just a waste of time because it wrestles with your body and mind.
