I see you have a good post but not many comments... is it because people don't know good literature when they see it... or is it that they think it is something else... or, perhaps they shy away from it because it touches something in them they are afraid of?
Maybe it is the school system that doesn't teach us how to think, just to conform
Could be all the taboos they've been indoctrinated with that make them avoid looking deeper.
