FLOWERS IN THE WIND

Although it doesn’t matter anymore I find myself still here and existing like flowers in the wind flowing for a place to land. But I’m hot and cold about it as I flow about the place.
There are presents I’ve never opened, I guess, and so I’ll not know what was in them; but there are countless ones I have opened, perhaps just the same as Rumi when he opened his rosary beads to count his fortune where he gave in to the wind of all his heart; yes, perhaps like that; I think that would be nice.
As this idea floated in and out of me I danced with it and tried to catch on to its tail.
But it got away from me, like flowers in the wind.

MY THERAPIST

There was a girl I loved once and who said she loved me.
I don’t see her around anymore.
Tomorrow keeps coming without her.
My therapist said then: this is yesterday’s story that you must put out of your mind.
I reminded my therapist that it was I that was paying the bill.
Later, when I’d gone home, the therapist put on Tom Waits music and blew his mind right away from him, and pulled his hair out too to boot by the roots.
And then the therapist came at me with the knives of her eyes and called me a fool for telling such a story.
What have I got to do with it, I asked her looking real hurt.
It has all to do with you she said back at me.
Are you really my therapist I asked her then…
Yup, she said, and pulled a bottle of wine out of her rucksack.

ENDING

I know, I’m going around in circles hunting, and building up piles of green bottles outside of my room window.
But that’s because I know I’ll never be here again and I’m getting in all I can while I can.
Maybe it was the devil beating on my tin can roof to get in, or maybe it was the lone ranger riding by, I can never tell these days
And that’s all the news we have tonight. And so this is radio Jupiter, over and out.
You just had to get the last word in, didn’t you?
I sure did.

FREE SPEECH

She had eleven and a half percent proof against my thirteen and a half elfin daredevil that was waving in the wind and making straight for her.
She ducked out of the way without a moment to lose and stuck her head out of the window and began typing away that dying for some was a way of life.
I met her lips midway around this as she caught me and took me far away from all I was thinking.
I really didn’t think that much about it then and so gave myself the freedom to let it go.
I kind of call this free speech, that speech that goes where the wind will blow it.
Thank you.
Until the next time then.
