Quick update: I took my left over infused oil and made soap with them same essential oils as well, topped it with some of the herbs - and it's both beautiful and smells amazing!

I made this recipe about a week ago now and have used it almost everyday since. I love it! It was easy to make, easy to use, and smells amazing. When I first smelled it (still warm) I was skeptical, but

What an awesome and informative post! I had looked into rendering tallow previously - but I have never tried it. After reading your post I definitely want to! I would love to be able to use it in soap

Welcome to Steemit Lu Anne, and thank you for taking the time to share your story. I hope things take a turn for the better for you soon.

This soap is pretty hard and hasn't turned to mush in the shower at all :) I have also heard that coconut oil soap makes a very hard soap as well.

You do you porky! But I think next you may have to make an actual post. :P

Yeah that would be a fun exfoliant :)

Hello Moritz, this is the fragrance calculator I plan to use next time: As far as adding herbs - I haven't do it yet but I know you can add most to soap I would just google around and see what others have

When I plan out my future homestead in my head I always flipflop on if I could handle a milk cow - but your post really makes it sound achievable! Thank you for sharing your story about Dairy Queen!

Will do that soon! Thanks for the information. :)

awesome - just joined. Thank you!

Wish I could use goats milk :( I hear it is awesome for soap - but sadly I'm allergic. Good luck on your project all the same! It really is a great hobby.

Thank you! Yes! I bought scents recently and that is the next plan -- to play with colors and scents. I also want to try adding things into the soap, such as honey or oats. :)

Thank you! That is on the list of projects for sure - liquid soap has a few more uses that I'd like try out. :)

Yes! Me too, and there's something about knowing what is in it/knowing I made it that just seems to make it feel better. :) Homemade masks is something I want to get into - do you have a goto fav?

Thank you :) I really am enjoying to so far.
