A Simple Birthday at Home: Smiles, Special Memories and A Black Forest Cake

I hope everything is well. I would like to share with you all a simple day I had yesterday.
Yesterday was my husband's birthday. I've been asking him for months about how he would like to celebrate his birthday. He said he doesn't need any celebration. He could just cook for us at home. So, I let him do what he wanted to do.
While my husband was busy preparing for lunch, I went out and asked my niece to go with me. I planned to buy cake for my husband.
While I was at the cashier, I asked my niece to take photos of the cake shop. Here are a few photos she took.
After taking these photos, my niece grabbed a pack of treats and asked if she could have it. 馃榿 I smiled and told her that, of course, she could. It's just a small payment for her service 馃榿.
I bought this black forest cake. Then we went back home and surprised my husband. 馃グ
My niece was very happy and proud that she helped buy the cake.
She was telling everyone about it.
I think I hit 2 birds with one stone that day. I surprised my husband with a cake and made my niece proud.
We enjoyed the cake after lunch. It was a simple birthday lunch at home, but very memorable.
