What is it going to take to save America?

What are we doing? We celebrate this and that, we argue about something or another, but... what are we DOING about the things that MATTER? I wrote this article, and it addresses some of the issues, but amid all the yelling and hand-wringing, we still aren't dealing with the elephant in the room. We are dying. Nobody has a plan to deal with the cancer, but there are plenty of band-aids for the scrape on our elbow. For example, I see an interesting young Latina running for state senate in California. She claims that she'll fight to fix the regulation and tax issues there. She'll solve homeless problems. There is nothing substantial about her online. No indication of how old she is, no specifics about her "small business." She claims to have a degree in anthropology but then states that she worked as an accountant. Lists herself as a small business owner, but the only thing I can see in researching her is that she is a social media influencer who created a path to politics. She's beautiful, charismatic, and her messaging is spot on, but she also appears to be single, childless, and in her 30s. How is this person, as wonderful as she seems to be, a solution to the real problem we face? The problem, it seems, is her and what she really stands for... and I hate that, but reality doesn't care if we like it or not.
When are we going to put the big problem at the top of the conversation list and talk about doing something to fix THAT?

It is the 250th Birthday of the United States of America. Flags are waving, and fireworks are exploding. There are parties and celebrations. I see a lot of posts on social media saying things like “Fight for America! She’s Worth It!” My question is, what does that mean, and what is it going to take to save not only this nation, but all of Western Civilization?
