Hello everyone, I hope you're all well.

I'd just like to share a story about an animal that has been making my previous workplace interesting more then it already was; that animal being a Fox. For more fun kind of story, I've decided I'll include a Badger into it as well.

When I moved to UK back in 2006, I was quite familiar with wildlife where I grew up, in Slovenia. Common wildlife isn't as diverse between the two countries as you'd expect it to be, but what I have to admit is that I've seen one certain animal up close and personal more here in the UK then in Slovenia. And yes, you've guessed it, a Fox. That said, I've only came across a Badger once in my lifetime all them years ago before arriving to UK.
Wildlife in Slovenia is more sneaky and less conspicuous then what it is the UK and thus you'll less likely spot it, especially in the urban area. I live in a suburban area of a town with around 30k population. Town itself is surrounded by fields, forests, canals, lakes, and the list goes on. Animals are more used to venture in to town and quite frankly in to our gardens.
For several years I've worked night shifts at a healthcare center in my town which was located on the outskirts and close to a forest. Sadly, that place has since been sold and is now being made in to a housing estate, whilst we've moved our workplace to a more urban environment.
At my previous workplace, wildlife was a normality to a point that you'd see a badger, a fox or any other animal on a daily/nightly basis.
What will remain a fantastic memory is that there were constant visits to our front door by a fox. That one fox was as brave as you get them and would literally sit outside until it was fed. Many times it'd stay around and just rest after having food and would even respond to us calling for it. Never have I ever seen or imagine anything like it. As to a badger, well, there were many of them, two or three at the time, and they were just a silly bunch snooping through anything and everything.
I truly hope that the wildlife in the area where my previous workplace building stood haven't been impacted by construction much. Luckily there hasn't been any deforestation of the nearby forest, so my hopes for them to continue to flourish as they did in the back then.

I'll leave you with a few photos from outside of my previous workplace that I took, and I hope that they are not too blurry or just rubbish for you to enjoy 馃檪
