Depression (major depressive disorder) is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act. Fortunately, it is also treatable. Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities once enjoyed. It can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems and can decrease a person’s ability to function at work and at home.

Depression symptoms can vary from mild to severe and can include:

Feeling sad or having a depressed mood
Loss of interest or pleasure in activities once enjoyed
Changes in appetite — weight loss or gain unrelated to dieting
Trouble sleeping or sleeping too much
Loss of energy or increased fatigue
Increase in purposeless physical activity (e.g., hand-wringing or pacing) or slowed movements and speech (actions observable by others)
Feeling worthless or guilty
Difficulty in thinking, concentrating or making decisions
Thoughts of death or suicide

~Suicidal attempts and even suicidal cases are rampant nowadays, maybe due to financial problems, family problems, relationship problems or self problem, due to depression, but we don't know really what's the reason behind those attempts or cases. I made this blog for everyone to know that depression is a cancer or a problem to the society. We need to fight depression. Depression can be treated in 3 ways, through medication, therapy, or self-help (regular exercise). But basically, we can help treat depression in our own ways. If we see someone who is terribly experiencing depression, let's not hesitate to approach them. Help them thru comforting them, making them feel that they're not alone, that there is someone willing to listen to their thoughts/opinion, give them advice and importantly make friends with them. Through this actions we can help a lot of people experiencing depression.

Just sharing my thoughts, help me spread awareness regarding Depression. Let's help one another. Thanks and Godbless everyone.
