The fact that the international cable producer, Yazaki, is planning to move to Marocco its biggest production facility in the country, based in my city, transformed the former, 4* communist hotel which is now part of the Double Tree by Hilton franchise.
For the past year now, the hotel has been populated with the guys that came here to learn the “craft of automotive cable making”. The rooms became improvised kitchens; the bathrooms, improvised clothes washrooms; the windows, improvised clothes dryiers. Basically the hotel is now a large bachelor house where the scholars have the time of their life.
I guess that the fact of periodically increasing the minimum wages by our Government, drove the company to consider the relocation of a 6000 employee factory.
It’s like we say it in one of our most famous sayings (I’ll try to adapt it to English as well as I can): “Forwards when it comes to eat the pie, backwards when it comes to fight the war”.
