A few weeks ago, there were complaints from bitshares users that certain fraudulent entities were creating pseudo ethereum assets and coercing unsuspecting victims into buying them for large returns on other platforms in the name of arbitrage... This didn't go well with the bitshares community who immediately responded by increasing the the fees for asset creation by 10folds, this wasn't enough though as the big name bridge exchanges GDEX, RUDEX, and XBTSX, went on to blacklist all assets that were not listed on their exchange, effectively ending the era of cross asset trading ie trading of any assets on the DEX. The development has helped to sanitize the DEX a little of recent, as only well known and trustworthy pairs are now being traded. I think this should also be the new norm, new assets on the DEX must be whitelisted before they can be traded for bridge assets, the bitshares exchanges should look into a simple system or set of conditions an asset can meet in order to be whitelisted and regarded safe by the community.
On a lighter note I would appeal to the committee to reduce the asset creation fees, in order to enable legit users use the features as well.
