Hey, thanks for the text. I am often writing about freedom via my blogs. Some thoughts:

  • Freedom is for the individual and humans, while nations have sovereignty. Often, the word freedom is used to describe what nations and governments can do. The thing is that being an officially sovereign nation is not automatically equal to being a "free society" or a nation where citizens and others enjoy a high degree of freedom regarding freedom of speech.

  • What is "too much freedom" is up to humans to decide through debates and ideas. However, institutionally and politically, reducing freedom and increasing the government regarding arbitrary control and supervision is often easier.

  • "Moderate" can be a dangerous position. Remember that before the civil war in the USA, most Americans were not entirely pro- no anti-slavery but "in the middle." Also, in the 20th-century parts of Europe as Sweden, most men were not entirely pro- or anti-voting rights for women but in the middle.
