Great story and written well. I was captivated until the end and wanted to share your salted cucumbers! I like the part about the Jay not wanting is photo taken, I have an Ara, blue and gold macaw that does not like to be photographed too so I can relate. The translation on reverso is really nice, google tends to make interesting choices and usually a pretty loose translation. I have never heard of this site and will save it for future use!
