Una de las cosas que m谩s me ha ense帽ado el mundo de las criptomonedas es que ninguna plataforma es para siempre.
Podemos pasar meses, incluso a帽os, utilizando un exchange sin inconvenientes y llegar a pensar que siempre estar谩 ah铆. Pero basta un cambio en las regulaciones, una decisi贸n de la empresa o una restricci贸n geogr谩fica para que, de un d铆a para otro, todo cambie.
Eso fue precisamente lo que ocurri贸 recientemente con CoinEx y los usuarios cubanos.
Hasta hace muy poco era uno de los exchanges que m谩s recomendaba para quienes viv铆amos en Cuba. Su interfaz era sencilla, permit铆a operar sin demasiadas complicaciones y se hab铆a convertido en una herramienta habitual para muchos miembros de la comunidad de Hive.
Sin embargo, las reglas cambiaron.
Y una vez m谩s qued贸 demostrado que, cuando dependemos de plataformas centralizadas, nunca tenemos la 煤ltima palabra.
Cuando ocurren noticias como esta es normal que aparezca la preocupaci贸n.
驴Qu茅 pasar谩 con mis fondos?

驴Existe alguna alternativa?
Por suerte, en la mayor铆a de los casos siempre existe una soluci贸n, pero hay algo que considero todav铆a m谩s importante que encontrar un nuevo exchange.
Aprender la lecci贸n.
Porque esta situaci贸n no afecta 煤nicamente a Cuba.
Hoy puede ser un pa铆s, ma帽ana otro.
Las regulaciones cambian constantemente y ning煤n exchange centralizado puede garantizar que sus condiciones permanecer谩n iguales para siempre.
Por eso cada vez estoy m谩s convencido de que debemos utilizar los exchanges como herramientas de trabajo y no como lugares donde almacenar permanentemente nuestras criptomonedas.
Siempre que sea posible, es mucho m谩s seguro mantener nuestros activos en billeteras donde nosotros controlemos las claves privadas.
Despu茅s de conocer la noticia comenc茅 a revisar diferentes opciones.
No buscaba el exchange perfecto.
Simplemente necesitaba una plataforma que me permitiera continuar operando con normalidad.
Despu茅s de comparar varias posibilidades decid铆 probar Bitunix.
Aclaro que todo lo que comparto aqu铆 corresponde 煤nicamente a mi experiencia al momento de escribir este art铆culo. Las pol铆ticas de cualquier plataforma pueden cambiar con el tiempo y siempre recomiendo investigar por cuenta propia antes de utilizar cualquier servicio.
Hab铆a le铆do comentarios afirmando que era obligatorio utilizar una VPN para pr谩cticamente cualquier operaci贸n dentro de Bitunix.
Sin embargo, quise comprobarlo personalmente.
En mis pruebas pude crear la cuenta, realizar dep贸sitos y operar sin necesidad de utilizar una VPN.
No puedo asegurar que todos los usuarios tengan exactamente la misma experiencia ni que esto vaya a mantenerse as铆 en el futuro, pero considero importante compartir lo que realmente ocurri贸 en mi caso.
Tambi茅n encontr茅 otros aspectos que me gustaron.
Al momento de escribir este art铆culo, Bitunix permite operar sin realizar verificaci贸n de identidad (KYC) para determinados niveles de uso, algo que resulta especialmente 煤til para muchos usuarios que no disponen de la documentaci贸n requerida por otros exchanges.
Su interfaz es bastante intuitiva, cuenta con aplicaci贸n m贸vil y versi贸n web, integra gr谩ficos de TradingView y las comisiones del mercado Spot me parecieron incluso m谩s competitivas que las que ven铆a pagando en CoinEx.
Otro detalle importante es que Bitunix no es una plataforma dirigida exclusivamente a usuarios cubanos. Puede ser utilizada por personas de muchos pa铆ses, siempre que las condiciones del servicio lo permitan en su jurisdicci贸n.
M谩s all谩 de Bitunix, creo que lo ocurrido con CoinEx deja una reflexi贸n que vale mucho m谩s que cualquier plataforma.
Nunca debemos depender de un 煤nico exchange.
Si ma帽ana Bitunix cambiara sus pol铆ticas, har铆a exactamente lo mismo que hice ahora: buscar otra alternativa.
Esa es una de las ventajas del ecosistema cripto.
Siempre aparecen nuevas herramientas.
Lo importante es mantenerse informado, aprender continuamente y evitar poner todos nuestros recursos en un solo lugar.
La diversificaci贸n no solo aplica a las inversiones.
Tambi茅n aplica a las plataformas que utilizamos.
Hasta este momento mi experiencia ha sido positiva y continuar茅 utiliz谩ndolo mientras las condiciones se mantengan favorables.
Si en el futuro encuentro aspectos negativos, tambi茅n los compartir茅, porque considero que una opini贸n solo es 煤til cuando muestra tanto lo bueno como lo mejorable.

We may spend months鈥攐r even years鈥攗sing the same exchange without any issues and start believing it will always be there. But all it takes is a change in regulations, a company policy update, or geographic restrictions for everything to change overnight.
That's exactly what recently happened with CoinEx and Cuban users.
Until very recently, it was one of the exchanges I most often recommended to people living in Cuba. Its interface was simple, it was easy to use, and it became an essential tool for many members of the Hive community.
Then the rules changed.
Once again, it became clear that when we rely on centralized exchanges, we are never the ones making the final decisions.
When news like this breaks, it's normal to feel concerned.
What will happen to my funds?
Will I still be able to trade?
Is there another alternative?
Fortunately, in most cases there is.
But I believe there's something even more important than finding a new exchange.
Learning the lesson.
This situation isn't exclusive to Cuba.
Today it may affect one country, tomorrow it could affect another.
Regulations are constantly evolving, and no centralized exchange can guarantee that its policies will remain the same forever.
That's why I've become increasingly convinced that exchanges should be treated as tools, not as permanent storage for our cryptocurrencies.
Whenever possible, I prefer to keep my assets in wallets where I control the private keys.
After hearing the news, I started researching different options.
I wasn't looking for the perfect exchange.
I simply needed a platform that would allow me to continue operating normally.
After comparing several alternatives, I decided to try Bitunix.
Everything I share in this article reflects only my personal experience at the time of writing. The policies of any exchange may change over time, and I always recommend doing your own research before using any financial platform.
I had read several comments claiming that using a VPN was mandatory for almost everything on Bitunix.
Instead of relying on other people's opinions, I decided to test it myself.

Beyond Bitunix itself, I believe the CoinEx situation teaches us something much more valuable than simply finding another exchange.
Never depend on a single platform.
If Bitunix changed its policies tomorrow, I would simply start looking for another alternative.
That's one of the strengths of the crypto ecosystem.
New tools continue to appear.
The important thing is to stay informed, keep learning, and avoid putting all your resources in one place.
Diversification isn't only about investments.
It also applies to the platforms we choose to use.
So far, my experience has been positive, and I plan to continue using it as long as the current conditions remain favorable.
If I eventually find drawbacks, I'll share those as well, because I believe honest reviews should include both strengths and weaknesses.
