Been out practicing with my new bird nerd lens. It’s amazing actually how beautiful common birds are. I suppose we just all get complacent. Nature is a wonderful thing.

I grew up going to Linvilla Orchards as a little Boy. The farm animals and pumpkin land were always a favorite. But the best were their Pies (apple crumb was our family favorite). I visited today and it’s even better than I remembered. This photo is one of the birds at their farm. Of course I came home with a pie!!

First of probably many posts today: I set myself a few photography goals, one of which is to get the perfect shot of a Goldcrest (Regulus regulus). Today I was chasing a Goldcrest for ages, and managed a few nice shots, though still not perfect! Also deffo have to take a video of a Goldcrest while it's flying, because it looks super cool and reminds me very much of humminbirds. Btw in German, Goldcrests are called , which also sounds super cute.

Today's post is all about birds :) Saw a beautiful grey heron yesterday, but it did not like the idea of me taking a picture of it and flew away as soon as it saw me But these three black-headed gulls were cool, too :).

gadwall drake. These ducks are the pirates of the waterfowl world, often following diving ducks to steal food gathered from the bottom of the pond or marsh. The gadwall is among species of North American ducks who’s numbers have been increasing thanks to private and public cooperation to expand appropriate hábitat.
