I like prompts like this ,they are easy to relate to and users can actually relate and write from a place of understanding. I have a lot of answers to this prompt but the one that did it for me and comes to mind now is the death of Oberyn Martell from Game of thrones. Obviously ive gotten over it as it was a long time ago but i still remember what i felt at that time, i literally froze, i was shocked beyond words. I was totally convinces that i was about to witness one of the most satisfying victories in television history. When Oberyn first appeared, he instnatly didn’t feel like a side character. He walked into King’s Landing with this effortless confidence, this calm aura that made everyone else seem smaller.

You could feel that he was carrying something heavy long before he ever even said it out loud. And when he finally did when he spoke about what happened to his sister, whilst he was talking to Tyrion lanister. By the time the trial by combat came around, I was fully on his side. Not casually rooting for him, I was invested. This wasn’t just about Tyrion’s fate anymore. This was about justice that had been denied for years and watching Oberyn circle the Mountain felt like watching a man who had waited his whole life for this moment. I was still kinda scared because i knew that it was Game of thrones and it had that anything could happen factor but i was on my toes and watched it with anticipation. He was agile and elegant and taunted one of the most feared Knight in the Seven Kingdoms.

And then he won,that’s the part that still gets me, he had won, the Mountain was on the ground. Bleeding. Broken. Oberyn had outmatched him. I remember leaning forward waiting for the final blow. I was like this is it, finally i could brethe a sigh of relief, it is finally over. But instead of ending it, he needed a confession. Why did he need the confession!!!!.?? He needed the world to hear what had been done to his sister. And in that need , he made the smallest mistake. One moment he was standing tall, demanding justice. The next, he was on the ground. And then came that horrific, unforgettable end. It was so sudden and so brutal that I didn’t even react right away. I just stared at the screen in disbelief.

I genuinely thought there had to be some kind of trick, but there wasn’t. What hurt the most wasn’t just the violence. It was the promise of it all. Like he was so well written and acted by Pedro Pascal. I thought he'd last longer. In one crushing moment, the show reminded me that in that world, justice doesn’t win just because it deserves to. Even now, i have still not been able to rewatch that episode after a long while. I want to preserve what i felt the first time i watched it, but then in hindsight that is how life truly is, the person/people that are right dont always get justice.
