Traveling while Getting to Know The Types of Orchids in the Orchid House, Cikole - West Java

This is my next entry for #winterchallenge because even though has no snow, this place has a winter vibe as always.

A few months ago, I went on a trip with two of my coworkers. We originally planned to go as four, but one of my coworkers was unable to join us so we did the trip as three. We decided to rented a personal transportation with the driver to drive us from Jakarta to the west java. It was an easy trip using a private car rather than having to go by public transportation such as trains or buses. That was because the tourist attractions we were going to did not have public transportation so we decided to rent private transportation to make it easier for us to move from our accommodation to other tourist attractions.

Before going to our main destination, we stopped by Cikole Jayagiri for a while. After breakfast we stopped by there because we had a lot of time before checking in to the hotel. We went there to enjoy the naturalness of the pine forest in the area. I really excited because I had never been to that place before.

That is the Orchid House in Orchid Forest, Cikole. I feel like I need a few days to really enjoy the Orchid Forest. I will take you to the Orchid house, a house where you can get to know the types of orchids that grow and are cultivated in Indonesia.

This is the Orchid house which has several types of orchids that are very beautiful. Of all the types, I have seen them in my mother's flower garden before, but I didn't know what kind they were. Through this Orchid house, I felt like I was brought back to my mother's mini garden.

Luckily, we stopped by on a weekday so when we arrived at the Orchid house, there weren't many people who would disturb my photos.

Orchid House is overgrown with many other plants. When you enter it, you will feel like entering an old, unkempt house. However, this time the weeds that usually grow in unkempt houses are very beautiful and refreshing. You have to be observant, because there are several types of orchids growing among the plants.

Besides, there are mini houses that are made to protect orchid varieties that are still rare in Indonesia. This is probably because the caretaker of this orchid house wants the orchid species to be successfully cultivated by maintaining the temperature inside.

Besides, you know that in tourist attractions sometimes there are groups of irresponsible people who will damage a plant variety. I also assume that this mini house was made to avoid the worst. You can make a journal of orchid types and increase your knowledge about orchids through these mini houses.

Another interesting thing about Orchid House, similar to other houses, Orchid House also has a large yard so that visitors can play or even have lunch with a beautiful view.

There is also chess where each pawn is a statue of a wayang orang. This wayang orang is a wayang character from West Java. I only remember a few names, Petruk, Semar, Gareng, you can probably add others. Very unique, isn't it?
