@oscarpsUno de los géneros televisivos de mayor éxito a lo largo de la historia de este medio de comunicación masivo, es el de las telenovelas. Sin duda alguna estas largas historias, en las cuales la vida e intimidades de diversos personajes es expuesta con lujo de detalles, mediante una puesta en escena que recrea la vida real, ha sido de gran influencia en la cultura contemporánea, especialmente durante el pasado Siglo XX e inicios del siglo actual. La industria de telenovelas latinoamericana (especialmente la venezolana), fue pionera en décadas pasadas, produciendo y transmitiendo excelentes obras que impactaron profundamente la cultura de todo el continente, e incluso del mundo. Es un hecho histórico, documentado y cierto, que durante el terrible conflicto de la Guerra Yugoslava (Bosnia Herzegovina), se hacía un alto, una tregua en el fuego de ambos bandos, para poder ver el capítulo de la telenovela venezolana Kassandra, protagonizada por la actriz Coraima Torres; así como también se hacía una tregua durante la guerra de serbios y albaneses, para ver la telenovela, (venezolana también) Llovizna.
