The story of 'Red' is based on the fact that the reality of a high profile raid that happened in Lucknow in 1981. In this film, the uncomfortable income tax officer named Amey Patnaik (Ajay Devgn) raided his entire team at the house of MP Rameshwar Singh alias Rajaji Singh (Saurabh Shukla).
Rajaji puts the full power on concealing his Rs 420 crore black money. He try to threatens Amey , but he does not miss his work. Ajay's wife Neeta (Ileana D'Cruz) is attacked. Neeta, however, gives support to her new bride.
