This is an amaryllis I grew from a bulb in 2014.
You just buy a kit that has the bulb, pot and the planting medium.
Plant the bulb and water it and place it in or near a sunny window.
It's so interesting to watch these flowers put up their long stems and
beautiful, green leaves and then see the flowers start forming.
A couple of weeks later the buds open!
The blooms can last around 10 days.
I wish I had an amaryllis blooming this year!
