Bluebonnets are the State Flower of Texas where I live.
They are an annual flower that usually reseeds itself in large fields.
If you want to grow it at home you have to sow it in the fall.
I just read that the shape of the petals on the flower resembles the bonnet worn by pioneer women to shield them from the sun.
The prairies of Texas had lots of sunny days back in 1901 when it was declared the state flower.
Of course there are still more sunny than rainy days in Texas!

The above 2 photos were taken of the bluebonnets in my flowerbed.

These bluebonnets were growing in front of another person's home in my neighborhood.

In the spring there are many large fields in East, North and Central Texas filled with bluebonnets.
It's a lovely sight to see!
If you are ever in Texas in the spring you should be sure to find a field of them to view and take some photos with your family or friends!

I hope you enjoy some kind of blessing today!
This is the day of my birth, so I'm having a very pleasant day myself!
No tutor students for me today, so I get to choose what I do all day!
