For a long, long time, I have considered changing the format of my posts on Steemit. In fact, I experimented with a lot of things: video, sound, text, text and video, photos and audio and so on. As nothing really stuck or felt satisfying enough to continue, I kept going back to written posts with - occasionally - a video or audio attached.

I Don't Just want to Write - I'm getting tired of one way traffic

Now I'm not saying that I will totally stop writing. I still plan to keep updating you on my filmmaking and - as long as there's no actual (video footage to share with you - it will mainly be written content on the story development and the overall filmmaking process.

Yesterday, I was on a long voice chat with whatamidoing@whatamidoing and he mentioned that he's also been looking for a different way of Steeming. He mentioned the word 'podcast' and I told him I had been considering that myself for a long, long time. Depending on the definition of a podcast, I could argue that I already had a podcast, a month or two ago, when I was uploading my so called "photo stories" to dsound@dsound

These photo stories consisted of a photo with a spoken story surrounding it. That format didn't stick for several reasons that I won't dwell on here.

A Podcast on Creativity

The last two to three years, while I collaborated with my North Carolina based filmmaking friend Ted / Theo, I considered - and often mentioned - starting a ( microbudget ) filmmaking podcast.

For several reasons - mainly anxiety and distraction related plus all other kind of excuses - we never really got started on it. I'm on Steemit now though and the integration of DApps like Dsound make things a whole lot easier. Theo and I also got rid of our anxiety issues and found our creative groove again. In fact, we're about to embark on an awesome filmmaking adventure that I've posted on several times lately.

Flashback To

a couple of months ago - I considered staring a podcast where I interview creatives. I didn't get started on it. And here's one of the main reasons:

I need others to help me out with this, to motivate me, to interact with, to be part of it. People like whatamidoing@whatamidoing inuke@inuke dflo@dflo and a bunch of other awesome and friendly Steemians who understand me, are pro-active, creative and feel like being part of this.

It's not about me - it's all about interactivity and co-creation

I have no idea what direction this is going to take. Whatamidoing and I might literally start out by recording our next voice chat and sharing ( part of ) the conversation / the content of our beautiful voices and over-active brains with you all

One thing I do know though. It is going to happen, sooner rather than later...

Image Source No, this is not my or whatamidoing@whatamidoing 's podcast setup. It's just an image from Pexels.com Don't expect too much professionality here. We find content, interaction, emotion and overall good vibes way more important.
