To answer your question: I feel it depends on how smelly they are

Usually the silent ones smell the worst ( 'silent assassins' ) so farting secretly without warning can be problematic haha!

Also, I feel the other should be allowed to joke about your or their farts.

When someone leaves a silent stinker I tend to bring awareness to it, instead of ignoring the fart.
