Mithril is a crypto project that use social mining. In many ways it resemles STEEM and their flagship app "Lit" is sort of an Instagram on blockchain and they are based on Ethereum. Due to focusing on short term high volume low quality content and being based on Ethereum makes me think that the project won't be any real threat to STEEM. But I need to give respect where it is due.

There is bit of touch of Bitshares when it comes to what they are attempting to create. Almost nobody is using STEEM to directly buy and sell stuff outside of our own eco-system. Since Mithril is technologically inferior, they are going to more adoption and features where people can spend their "social mined" coins in real life for various things.
