Interesting point, but still don't really see an objective reason why smaller states should be overrepresented in the presidential elections? Isn't democracy always sort of a majority over minority as long as some principles (free speech, principle of equality, personal freedoms or human rights for instance) are upheld? So democracy is not just tyranny over the minority, but there are some principles that protect the non-ruling side.
