Die Lieder von Lacrimosa sind langsam, theatralisch, opernhaft, dĂŒster und melancholisch. Darkwave, Gothic. Die Bandname inspiriert von Mozarts Requiem Lacrimosa, die TrĂ€nenreiche.
Die Band wurde von Tilo Wolff gegrĂŒndet, spĂ€ter stieĂ dann die Finnin Anne Nurmi hinzu. Tilo singt auf Deutsch, Anne auch auf Englisch und Finnisch.
Das erfolgreichste Album ist Elodia (1999), 2025 gelang der Band ein zweiter Chart-Hit mit Lament.

On Sunday, following performances by Clan of Xymox, She Past Away, and London after Midnight, the German-Swiss band Lacrimosa played at the agra hall during the Wave-Gothic-Treffen (WGT) music festival in Leipzig.
Lacrimosaâs songs are slow, theatrical, operatic, dark, and melancholic. Darkwave, Gothic. The bandâs name is inspired by Mozartâs Requiem Lacrimosa, âThe Tearful One.â
The band was founded by Tilo Wolff, and later joined by the Finnish singer Anne Nurmi. Tilo sings in German, while Anne also contributed songs in English and Finnish.
Their most successful album is Elodia (1999), in 2025, the band scored a second chart hit with âLament.â
