The christian life is not one that accommodates laziness,it's a life of passionate service for the master .Immediately a person is born-again,the joy of salvation naturally spurs him to work for the lord. As a christian the lord expects us to preoccupy ourselves with his work until he returns in

This is an enormous task ,you can accomplish the task only by the help of Jesus,the master of the work himself,but you need to help an intimate relationship with him which comes with daily communing with him,studying the word of God,seeking to know his mind on various issues depending on him. The bible says in

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Abiding in Jesus makes you fruitful in your work for him,not only that it enables you to be an overcomer and to work with him until you leave this side of eternity.
The question is what is the task assigned to us by the master?

It is given that every christian is assigned the task of soul winning and for you to excel in this task you must understand what it entails and then fashion out the best way to accomplish it.The bible says in "John 9 vs 4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work".this verse gives us some details about the task ,you must be conscious of the person who assigned the task.Jesus acknowledges the father as the one who assigned him the work.
As paul explains in his writing God gives everyone different Grace,ability ,gift and ministry to all geared towards winning souls and edifying the body of Christ.To do the work of God,it should be done as your primary preoccupation and not something that you are coerced to do or something you do only at your leisure,stop comparing yourself with any christian because all christian has different spiritual gifts and ministry,be faithful and diligent in doing the work of God.
1 Corinthians 3 vs 13-14 King James Version (KJV)
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
You are expected to use whatever spiritual gift or ministry you have to preach the gospel convincingly to all sinners to repentance,if they accept your preaching and turn away from sin unto God,he will forgive them and justify them.
You also have a mandate to backsliders , the lord wants you to warn backsliders of the judgement looming on them and restore them back to the christian faith. so our task involves ministering to all categories of people-sinners,backsliders and christians .
There will be challenges ,unpleasant circumstances,discouraging situations,trails and persecution may arise in the course of our duty,you need to remain focus on the task and be not discouraged.
Acts 20vs 4
But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
Always have it at the back of your mind that if i don't do the masters task many souls will perish and go to hell. Many people has not heard the gospel of Jesus Christ,these thought should spur you out of your apathy and move your heart's affection to reveal God's word by freely sharing the Gospel of Christ with those that are unsaved.
What is the target of the master?
The target of the master's work is the whole world.The gospel has no geographical limitation or race,class,sex or age restriction,God expects us to preach the gospel everywhere in the world to all sinners irrespective of their tribe,class,colour,race and so on.You should begin from your neighbourhood,reaching your neighbours is the best way to evangelise to the whole world.Your neighbors are those around where you live and work,you cannot preach the gospel t outsiders when you have not preached it to your neighbors first.Not all of us have the opportunity to reach people on the other side of the world but we can influence those we touch that's our neighbors,they are those we can directly reach for Christ.
When you record success in your neighbourhood ,do not forget that the target set for you is the whole world.Jesus did not allow himself to be carried away by the successful ministry he had in his neighborhood "Galilee". You shouldn't lose track of the goal the master has set,don't allow fear to restrict you,be bold and fearless in the discharge of your duty,be equipped with the power of the Holy Spirit so that you will be effective in your work.2 Timothy 4 vs 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.May the Lord go everywhere with us ,working with us and confirming the word with signs and wonders .Amen.
