Tesla begins making its North American Charging Standard (NACS) available to other manufacturers. Ford will be the first to take advantage of this opportunity. Ford announces that its new models will have from 2025 a built-in NACS connector. This will eliminate the need for an adapter when using one of Tesla fast chargers. According to the White House, selected Tesla charging stations will be made available for cars of other brands, in return, Tesla will receive a refund from federal funds allocated for the development of EV infrastructure in the US. Ford said it has reached a separate agreement with Tesla under which owners of electric Fords will receive access to more than 12,000 Tesla Superchargers across the U.S. and Canada. In addition, Ford customers will be able to activate such a charger from the Ford mobile app.
