I could not agree more. And this happens with all modern academic pseudo-intellectuals. You would be surprised to discover that even Einstein, whom I don't have much against, had absurd political views. For that reason I always take the opinions of scientists with great caution. His dogma of materialism is the root of almost all the beliefs you have mentioned; from materialism arises atheism; from materialism arises determinism; from materialism arises marxism; etc. It is simply a logical conclusion. So for me it is not surprising that they support all those things because it is simply the consequence of being based on materialism.
