In my opinion, my thoughts are simply a recreation of our bodily senses with the mind (mainly vision and hearing), thinking is, basically, speaking with the mind, or perceiving mental images. I don't know the process that makes this take place, and if it is the brain that originates it, it is to be assumed that we are the brain. I don't think anything else is necessary. I don't think thinking has to do with my instincts, or my body in general, not with my sensory input. And remembering is, in a way, also thinking. Not all thoughts are memories, but all memories are thoughts. Ideas and concepts are of the things we think about, but they are not the thought itself.
