Right. But if you had a red shirt that would discolor and become pink, would we say that the red changed to pink or that the shirt changed to pink? Look at if it is not the shirt that changes, just like the flower, and not the red.
The red remains the same only that it is not now in the flower, or in the shirt, and has given way to another color.
We see that there is a difference between the color itself and the things that have that color. Because red exists independently of the flower, as seen in other objects. And the red in itself never begins to be of another color, but always remains static as red. Red is always red.
On the other hand, perhaps you do tell your autonomous nervous system what to do, only that you don't do it consciously, and the psyche as a unit is responsible for governing your entire body.
