Many liberals, and this is probably the only time I use that definition to refer to both classical liberals and progressives, tend to think that being liberal means being in favor of each and every one of the things that are somehow against the state intervention. In other words, anything that is against the State and its interventionism is good.
They believe that since you are a liberal, then you should be in favor of all the things a liberal is supposed to agree with, like a stereotype, without the slightest sign of self-reasoning or personal thinking.
These people, who are practically the "walking theory", they are not with half-measures, they support everything of package.
For example, that I define myself as an old-school liberal, I do not support many things that are usually liberal and anarchist (of any kind) fervently support, such as the free use of drugs, gender ideology, or mass immigration.
This does not mean that I'm going to advocate illegalizing or prohibiting drugs, or that I'm going to go to war against the people who consume it, it simply means that I do not intend to consume them, and that I would not be advocating their consumption either, In fact, my dispute goes even further, including the medicinal use of these, since I am also quite against many medications.
This is truly what defines a liberal, is not to be in favor of everything, is to be against many things, but still defend the freedom that each of these people have.
I will not go towards a stranger to demand that he define himself as a man or as a woman, he or she is free to define himself as he wishes, although I am also free to have a stance against him, criticize his position, and use the pronoun and the way of speaking that seems right and correct to me, without having to resort to a court to dictate a verdict for or against anyone.
I believe that this is the true value of tolerance, and it is the cornerstone for life in freedom, the attitude of respect towards the opinions, ideas or attitudes of other people even if they do not coincide with their own.
